Description
The art of living entails learning how to decide what to glean from around us that will be useful to ourselves and others, and what to reject that will otherwise be damaging. Just as we learn to distinguish between nutrients and pollutants in order to be physically healthy, and choose motion and activity to stay physically fit, we can also learn how to build our own psychological selves from our experiences, families and cultures, by choosing carefully what lifts us up rather than what drags us down. This short book is the first in a series of plain language discussions about how people tick, how people can change, and how we can help each other make those changes.
