Reelaux was an alias created at the beginning of 2009 by ZRG to focus more on the broad scope of house music. Reelaux has appeared on Mistique, Inkfish, Silk, Soundtribe and Fade over the last year or so and this alias has gained some nice momentum and many fans over that time. His ‘Cheiron’ EP contains 3 fresh originals that certainly fall into the forward thinking progressive house sound. The title track leads the EP off and the overall production quality stands out immediately. A soft bubbly acid line and gorgeous pads set the tone initially. The heavy beat layering is brilliant and when combined with Reelaux’s stellar drums give the track an enormous amount of groove. The hooky hypnotic refrains here are very reminiscent of some of Guy Js older productions and sound killer. ‘Don’t Let Our Music Die’ follows is a slightly deeper fashion with nice airy atmospheres, some captivating vocal bits and a very cool, modern sound. ‘Subliminal Persuasion’ closes the EP out in extremely strong fashion. The synth and vocal stabs are absolutely brilliant and will make this one stand out straight away. It’s got a uniqueness about it that just becomes infectious as the track progresses. Again the ultra cool beats and top drum work gives it an amazing groove similar to ‘Cheiron’. This is top notch modern dance music and one of the best releases ever on Mistique Digital.
